Borough Theatre Stratford

We often hear of the Theatre Royal in Stratford, but for over 30 years the Borough Theatre at the junction of Stratford High Street and Bridge Road held sway. In the 1930's the theatre was converted into the Rex Cinema and is now a night club.

Hi Mick, the photo that you posted of the Rex cinema brought back some lovely happy memories.
Catching a trolley bus from the Connaught to Stratford Broadway, a short walk around the corner & I was there.
The cinemas closer to home & their choice of films could not compare to the adventure films showing at the Rex.
Ken.

It's a pity that lovely old corner fa├žade and cupola disappeared when the theatre was converted to a cinema.
