Denmark Arms
« on: 04 May, 2016, 05:36:18 PM »
This photo was posted on one of the Newham related Facebook Groups as The Denmark Arms in 1890. I understand that The Denmark Arms at East Ham Town Hall was built in 1890 and extended around 10 years later but the photograph does not resemble the present building at all. Someone thought there was another Denmark Arms in the Caning Town area. Is anyone able to confirm that location of this photo?

The Denmark Arms I remember was situated near to Denmark road school and was about 100 yds from the junction with the Barking Road.

Hi Doug and Alan
I haven't been able to find any information for any other Denmark Arms, only the one near East Ham Town Hall.

You mentioned Doug that you thought it was built about 1890 but the Old Pubs website listed the various census for the occupants and the first one was 1871.
