Clements Road East Ham: any photos circa 1939?
« on: 16 November, 2015, 10:33:52 AM »
Hi all
The national identity card registration scheme has found my grandparents living here.  I have had a look at it on Google Maps and it seems the house survived the 36 V1 bombs and aerial attack, unlike the family's earlier addresses in West Ham.

Please has anyone links to pictures on the internet or pictures in their personal collection?

Thanks
Rogier

Hi Nels
72 Clements Road.
In 1937 my father was given the Coronation book of King George VI.  I thought it might have his school mentioned, but just says "County Borough of East Ham".  He probably went to the local school what ever that is?

My friend lived at 91 and his parents do still
the infants school would have been Altmore which is just round the corner and the juniors is Lathom which has an entrance in Clements rd in the next block towards the high street.
my friend and I went to both those schools
I will see if his parents have any photos of the road
also my Father who lived in the next road would have gone to Lathom about 1930

Also I see you are researching "Allum"  there was a family two doors away in Lathom rd named Allum they had a boy called Stephen who would have been born about 1957 cant remember the parents name though

Thanks Nels
If Stephen was born 1959, his mum was Mabel nee Hogben and his dad John Allum, then I'm related.
Good luck with your helping me.
If anyone  can give me any tips for making contact, I'd be very grateful.
