Re: Tales from the Two Puddings - documentary
« Reply #45 on: 10 December, 2012, 01:50:40 PM »
Hello everyone

as mentioned in earlier messages, I am working with Eddie Johnson to create a documentary based on his book "Tales from the Two Puddings."

I would be very interested in hearing from people who knew the Two Puddings well, either as customers or as staff, particularly if the Two Puddings played an important part in some aspect of your life.

If you would like to take part in helping to develop this documentary, please send me an email with your contact details and I will be in touch.

many thanks

Rob West

Hi Bill ,
I hope you can go along to the next event at the Bishopsgate institute so that you can ask Kenny yourself  I am sure it will make his day .

The date of the next event has been brought forward by one day as they have had a lot of pre bookings
and needed the large hall which was only available the day before , the link to the institute which gives
all the information is below.
                                     Carol.
                Happy New Year.

Just joined the Newham Story. The Two Puddings is the pub where I first met my husband. I lived in Prince Regent Lane and we particulary liked Shaun Buckley and the Breadcrumbs playing can anyone remember them?

Just read it. Great and easy read! Full of the real facts. Just sent it to my bruv in Wales.
Oop's. I'm sorry about the royalties though Eddie!! ::) ::)
Has inspired me to get out my copy of the Bridgehouse publication which I mislaid in my recent home move and haven't read yet.

A few weeks ago Kenny and Eddie met up with some of the members from a few of the groups that played at the Puddings in the 60s and after,  they were being interviewed
for the documentary about the puddings Sean Buckley was one of those that were there .
From what  I gather everyone had a brilliant  day .

Former West Ham United player & manager, current QPR boss Harry Redknapp, first met his wife Sandra at the Two Puddings. H was accompanied by his team-mate Colin Mackleworth.

Please don't forget SNOBS as that was a great success as we'll.  All of us who were born in the mid fifties spent our weekends down there and had a great times dancing to all the Glam Rock stuff.  We would have the Tamela section, then the Twisting/jiving section then back to the chart records.  I had my 16th, 17th and 18th birthday celebrations there and remember it fondly.  I also bought the book and could not imagine how Eddie remembered all those stories.  Living in Stratford for 20 years so recognised all the photos in the book and remember Eddies boys at Salway Rd. School. T
