Requests for the Newham Story website
« on: 04 February, 2010, 02:13:03 PM »
Hello, would it be possible for there to be a sticky thread where users can request specifics things to be added to the main newhamstory website?

I would like to kick off with asking for a pic of the pyramid/ziggurat building that used be in The Grove, Stratford before Morrisons/the Library was built.

Thank you,

I've been scouring the net for some pics of it & was amazed that there seemed to be none.

In your repository of photo's, do you have any of Holbrook's machine and tool in Martin St E15? My grandfather W.W. Sherret worked there for many years.

There were about half dozen pics that appeared to be in an album that was dedicated to photographing certain streets in West Silvertown before they were demolished in 1962/3.  Howard Bloch sent me a photocopy of the album, but very poor quality.  Any chance of having some of the photos inserted on the site?  I will send copies to Richard, Jenni & Kathy Taylor hoping they will pass them onto you.

Er, er, are you sort of sorry that you offered this service?  It could prove to be very, very popular. - Stan  ::)

Hi Fizzbin

The photo of the Pyramid has now been uploaded onto the Newham Story Website. Sorry it's taken a while. I am looking into the other requests.

Are there anymore photos of Queens Road Market other than what is online here which is a painting. Would be interested to see some photos prior to the war or after?
