At St Marks War memorial, Silvertown this morning a commemorative Ceremony was held in memory of Private Patrick O`Keefee of the 1st Battalion Highland Light Infantry (City of Glasgow Regiment).

He was the son of John and Annie O`Keefe of Saville Road, Silvertown.

Patrick was killed on Sunday 13th August 1944 and is Buried in the Commonwealth War Graves Commissions Cemetery at Bannevilla-La-Campangne, Calvados, France.

His name as now been added with honour to the memorial at St Marks.

The event was well supported by his Family, Stephen Timms MP, plus various Councillors, British Legion and invited guests.

The event was also supported by the Brick Lane Music Hall who supplied very welcome Light Refreshments.
