About me
« on: 22 July, 2008, 02:25:15 PM »
I was born in 1933 in Plaistow Maternity Hospital. I lived at 11 Chesley Gdns, E6 for almost all the years up to 1966 when I moved with my wife and family to Bristol - we bought the house from my parents when they moved to Southend in 1961.
I went to Brampton Rd school until I was 11 when I went to East Ham Grammar school in 1944. I stayed there until 1951 followed by two years National Service as a nursing orderly in the RAF. I then went to medical school - St Thomas's opposite the Houses of Parliament - where I stayed as an undergraduate and then postgraduate until I gained a permanent job as a consultant pathologist at Frenchay hospital in Bristol. I retired in 1993 but continued with a small, part time, job until January 2008.
My wife escaped from communist E Germany in 1956. She became a nurse in London, where we met. She has many illnesses and I'm her carer. Never-the-less, we still manage to travel a little and we've just come back from one of my wife's class reunions in Germany.
Lived at 11 Chesley Gdns, E6 for most of the first 25 years of my life.
