70th anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuation

As many of you will know, this year is the 70th anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuation.  One of the many events that are being held to commemorate this occasion is a recreation of the evacuation route to Dunkirk followed by the BEF.

A group of 35 living historians from around the world (including me) will be marching/walking a 70 mile route over four days in the correct uniforms and equipment of the BEF.  We will also be taking part in ceremonies in some of the villages along the way.

We have all chosen different charities to support, and my chosen charity is the “Not Forgotten Association”, who have been providing entertainment and activities to wounded and disabled ex-service personnel since the 1920s.
(see http://www.nfassociation.org/)

If anyone is interested I will post photographs soon (I have just finished blacoing my webbing!)

If you would like to make a donation to the Not Forgotten Association, please contact them direct.
