IT is still a bit slow at the moment. Possibly, like I did, people discovered a Newham page with sections covering all areas? I know I did, and once registered you can go on any section by only registering the once.

I can remember going into a bakers and saying "have you got broken biscuits" and when the lady said yes
I said "well why don't you mend them" to which she replied I'll clip your ear before I do that.

Newham memories and nostalgia / Woodgrange Road
« Last post by MickG on 14 August, 2017, 04:11:45 PM »
Woodgrange Road in Forest Gate is the original gateway road of the area to Epping Forest and another of Newham's shopping hubs, although not on par with the likes of High Street North or Stratford Broadway. Woodgrange Road has seen changed over the years particularly the stretch from the Methodist Church on the corner of Osborne Road to Romford Road which was completely destroyed by a stick of bombs in WW2.

Woodgrange Road also represents my own introduction to Newham, when in 1962 I was posted to the telegram office at the rear of what was then Telephone House as a telegram boy on a motorbike. Now Woodgrange Road is to undergo radical change once again as a stretch of shops south of Earlham Grove is to be demolished and replace by a mixture of shops and housing units.
